The Special Course on Yogyakarta Privileges (MKKY) is designed as an innovative component of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program for students in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). MKKY provides students with a multidimensional experience beyond their chosen field of study. In addition, this course brings students closer to the local way of life where they study. At the same time, MKKY expands their knowledge and stimulates critical, innovative, creative, and solution-oriented thinking about development in DIY. The uniqueness of DIY as a development process is relevant to any field of study. Political science students can explore the unique governance issues of DIY, economics students can study the welfare of the people, which is a goal of the DIY Privileges, and law students can learn about the Special Region Law. The Standard Competency (SK) of the Special Course on Yogyakarta Privileges (MKKY) is formulated as follows: "After participating in the Special Course on Yogyakarta Privileges, students are expected to be able/competent to understand the history and concept of DIY Privileges, practice the values of DIY Privileges, and actively participate in the development of DIY Privileges." This SK is elaborated into 15 Basic Competencies (KD) and their Indicators (I), presented in 15 chapters. MKKY can be delivered in 15 lecture sessions or short block teaching and participatory field research practice.
